getstatus.ai

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how getstatus.ai collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you browse website status pages, submit problem reports, or use our sharing features.

Information we collect

When you submit a problem report, we receive and store it on our servers. A report includes the website or service you are reporting, the issue type you select, and the submission time. We use this information to identify reported problems and understand how they change over time.

Our website and infrastructure providers also process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page, and request time, to deliver pages, diagnose errors, and protect the service against abuse. If you contact us, we process the information you provide to respond to your request.

How we use information

We use problem reports to calculate report totals, identify common symptoms, and display service issue trends alongside automated monitoring results. We use technical information to operate and maintain getstatus.ai, investigate failures, and detect duplicate, automated, or abusive submissions.

Automated checks collect information about the websites we monitor, including HTTP status codes, response times, connection results, and check timestamps. These checks run from our monitoring infrastructure and do not monitor your personal browsing activity on those websites.

Public statistics and service providers

Public report charts show aggregated counts and issue trends. Your IP address and browser information are not displayed in those charts. We may share information with hosting, storage, content delivery, and security providers where needed to operate the service, or disclose information when required by law.

Website icons may be supplied by Google’s favicon service. If your browser requests an icon directly from Google, Google receives technical request information, which can include your IP address and browser information. Google processes that information under its Privacy Policy.

Browser storage and cookies

We use browser storage to remember your theme preference and retain a local history of your report selections. An essential first-party reporting cookie helps recognize repeat submissions and prevent duplicate reports. The cookie expires after 90 days and is not used for advertising. Infrastructure providers may also use cookies or similar technologies for website delivery and security. You can manage cookies and local storage through your browser settings.

Clearing your browser’s site data removes information stored in that browser. It does not delete reports that have been submitted to our servers or remove reports from aggregated statistics.

Sharing and external websites

Sharing is initiated by you. Copying a link writes the selected status-page URL to your clipboard; choosing a sharing platform or app passes the link and accompanying text to that service. We do not automatically publish to your accounts. Sharing services and websites you visit through external links handle information under their own privacy policies.

Data retention and security

Individual problem reports are retained for 90 days and removed through scheduled cleanup. We store a hash of the reporting cookie with each report to recognize repeat submissions; raw cookie values and IP addresses are not stored in the report database. Technical information processed by infrastructure providers is retained according to the relevant provider’s policies and operational or legal requirements.

We use safeguards appropriate to the information we process and restrict access to the purposes described in this policy. No method of internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You can browse status pages without submitting a report, control browser storage through your settings, and choose whether to use sharing features. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses. Contact us at the address below to make a request. We may need enough information to locate the relevant records and verify a request. Aggregated information that no longer identifies an individual may be retained.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our information practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
